A remarkable English piece of high-end craftsmanship from the 1700s, is featured in this unique pendant design. I acquired a small collection from the UK of beautiful quality made watch pieces from Fusee pocket watches. These fine time pieces originated in France and caught on in popularity in England among the wealthy class. The watchmakers used small precision tools to cut the intricate filigree designs and hand engrave the gold gilt metal; among the fine detailed engraving on this small piece, there is an image of a man's face. I've added a small steel gear in the center of the filigree work and set a diamond inside the bore and also set an Ethiopian opal near the top. The pendant is attached to a contemporary vermeil (14K over sterling silver) chain by hand wire wrapped petite fresh water pearls, opal bead and small brass flower stamping for an interesting asymmetrical design. Chain length is 16". A truly remarkable reimagined, historic adornment, and a great conversational piece that would make a special and unique keepsake.
• The pendant measures: 35mm in length x 20mm in width
• All items are packaged with care using a lovely keepsake gift bag.
